A style of hojōjutsu tying used for transporting and/or public display of prisoners.
Complex patterns were used to identify the prisoners social status, crime and punishment.
This is a style of hojo tying used during Japan’s Edo period (1603-1868). The patterns used and can be considered an ancestor of modern shibari or kinbaku.
