Japanese: 両手首縛り
Ryō (両): a pair
tekubi (手首): wrist
shibari (縛り): tie
Both (ryo) wrists (tekubi) tied together. It does not matter where the wrists are, or if the tie is cinched, as long as the wrists are tied together.
This is one of the most basic techniques used in bondage, this technique can be used for any limb-to-limb bondage.
Immobilizing the wrists is not the goal of this bondage, it is merely a means to begin your play, to achieve your actual goal.
Do you want the hands out of your way when you play with your partners breasts? You might tie the remaining part of the rope to a ceiling hook. Are your intentions more sexual in nature, lie your partner down on the bed and tie the remaining part of the rope to the bed frame. Instead of binding the wrist in front of the body, tie them on the back of the body. A completely different effect, physically and mentally, is achieved.
A bondage as simple as the ryo-tekubi shibari allows for a lot of fluid variations in your play without your partner ever having the free use of her arms and hands. This can be much more fulfilling than a complex time consuming full body bondage or (semi) suspension. Especially with beginners!
