Asanawa (麻縄) | 6mm, Jute, Rope | Ogawa

Description

This 6mm jute rope is the standard for Japanese rope bondage (shibari, kinbaku) and is the rope  I use. This rope is also used by the Japanese rope-gods such as Naka Akira and (the late) Yukimura Haruki.

This rope is direct from Japan and can be used by beginners and advanced students alike. Of course not just for Japanese bondage, but for all other bondage’s as well.

Please note, this rope is made with the use of JBO. JBO stands for Jute Batching Oil. This is a mineral oil used in the processing of jute fibers to make them pliable and protect the rope-making machines. Depending on the amount of JBO used you can smell its presence in the rope. If you are bothered by the smell you are free to exchange the rope for our JBO-free rope. Shipping and handling of returning the rope is payed by you and we charge you for shipping and handling of your new rope. If you are unsure please order a sample of this rope first.

Most JBO smell in high quality rope will with use fade away completely or to an unnoticeable level. Letting it “air out” speeds up the process.
